Assistant Professor
Dr. Boopathi Duraisamy, a Ph.D. in Energy from Pondicherry University, specializes in biofuels and IC engine performance, with publications in top journals like Wiley and Elsevier. He has researched Prosopis Juliflora biodiesel, ethanol-diesel blends, and hydrogen induction. Recognized for teaching and research excellence (2021 - 2022), he also mentored "Team Full Throttle" to multiple Go-Kart competition victories.
Through the demanding lifecycle of designing, simulating, and prototyping internal combustion engine (ICE) go-karts, Team Full Throttle functions as a high-performance incubator where student engineers go beyond traditional classroom learning. Members foster a culture of technical excellence and sustainable innovation by navigating the challenges of vehicle dynamics and precision engineering for national competitions such as the GKDC. This rigorous setting serves as a professional forge, "driving talents and forging leaders" by giving each participant a strong sense of ownership, cooperative problem-solving, and project management abilities. In the end, the group creates a new generation of highly skilled, flexible professionals who are prepared to steer the automotive industry's future by bridging the gap between academic theory and business reality.
At Team Full Throttle, our mission is to design and develop high-performance internal combustion engine (ICE) go-karts that balance speed, efficiency, and reliability. Through rigorous research, simulation, prototyping, and real-world testing, we aim to push the limits of karting technology while promoting innovation and sustainability in motorsports. Our focus is on optimizing engine performance, enhancing vehicle dynamics, and improving fuel efficiency to create competitive and environmentally responsible racing machines.
Team Full Throttle was established in 2013 through the arduous efforts of eight young enthusiasts under the guidance of Dr. M. Leenus Jesu Martin. Driven by a passion for automotive engineering, the founders wanted to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world application using the Go-Kart platform.
The niche workforce generated a complete design report and manufacturing plan in less than four months. By 2015, guided by Faculty Advisor Mr. D. Boopathi, the team expanded and officially took on its first major project—designing the very first physical go-kart.
When severe regional floods struck, the team held 24-hour planning sessions. The resulting vehicle, affectionately named "Monster," cleared all dynamic rounds, secured the 8th Rank overall out of over 150 teams, and proudly brought home the Winner – AUTO Cross Award.
With the baton passed to Captain Sanjith W. Dass, the team dispatched their vehicle to the Kari Motor Speedway. The team dominated the track, bringing home multiple laurels:
🏆 Winner – AUTO Cross Award
🏆 Winner – CAE Award
🥈 Runner-Up – SKIDPAD Award
In 2018, the team introduced Monster 3.0, a high-performance go-kart ranking 7th overall in New Delhi. In 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic forced operations to shut down. Despite the massive setback, the team's spirit remained strong through virtual research and design refinement.
Today, the baton rests with a new generation of leaders. Under the continued guidance of Dr. D. Boopathi, Team Full Throttle is cranked up and aggressively preparing for the next season. Armed with a decade of experience, the team continues its legacy of "Driving Talents, Forging Leaders."
